Bigger Bump Equals Bigger Spending :)

Derek and I just made our move back up to Northern California, the move was bittersweet, leaving Southern California made me sad but I also have lots of love for the Bay Area and will enjoy living in the area again. I miss my family, especially my little brother but it's nice to get to spend time with my in laws :)

My belly is getting bigger and bigger everyday, it's starting to point out and it's pretty weird looking at myself in the mirror and trying not to freak out over how huge I look! I'm a week away from the 3rd Trimester, just turned 25 weeks yesterday :) I finally got to do some maternity shopping the other day. I bought a couple of pairs of capris, tops, layering tanks and a cute long sleeve open sweater :) This past weekend my in laws came down to Southern California to visit us and help us move and while they were there we went to The Block at Orange and I bought some adorable baby onesies (I will post some pictures soon) and my wonderful mother in law and younger sister in law bought us a ridiculously adorable bathing suit and matching dress for our little girl :)) We also got some adorable bath towels and blanket from my other sister in law and her husband, we hadn't seen them for Christmas so we finally got to see the gift :) I'm loving all these little baby purchases and I can't wait to see what else we get along the way.

I'm still not sure when we'll be having my baby shower and I still haven't figured out when I will be taking my maternity pictures but I really need to get on that since time seems to be flying by.

Ohhh and of course how could I forget! We did our 3D/4D Ultrasound this last Saturday, my parents and little brothers were there and so were my in laws. Every time I get to see my little girl it is the most amazing feeling, but this time to get to see her in 4D was the best feeling ever. We did it at 24 weeks and they recommend you do it between 28 and 34 weeks to get the best pictures but I really didn't want to wait and I wanted my parents to be able to be there too and since we were moving that weekend it wouldn't have been possible. Here are some pictures :)

Our little girls face:) She's got my lips ;)

This was so precious she had her hand under her chin and the other hand at the back of her head, you can see her elbow.

It looks like she is shushing us with her finger over her lips.

It looks like she's giving us the thumbs up in this pictures, she's just posing away.

She's kicking her little foot to her head :)

We had a ton more pictures but it's pretty much more of the same just slightly different angles. I am so in love with her cute little face. I might be biased but I think she is sooo cute, I wish we could have waited longer, when she had more fat on her so we could get an even better look but I still think she's beautiful, she has my lips and it looks like she has a little button nose. I swear she was smiling the whole time, maybe it's just me but it looks like she can't stop smiling. The place we went to was really great, we got a DVD of the ultrasound and a CD with pictures and a ton of 3D/4D pictures printed out.

Well that's all the updating I have for now, enjoy :)

Oh Baby!

This post is supposed to be more baby ranting but I couldn't post something today without mentioning the amazing game last night. I had been looking forward to the Super Bowl for 2 weeks and yesterday my Packers did not disappoint. I am ecstatic that they won and I'm so happy my little girl is coming into a year where her team wins the Super Bowl, because my baby is definitely a Packer's Baby!

So enough of that, now time for some baby ranting.

Today I had a doctors appointment, just a typical check up to hear the baby's heartbeat but we also got to find out if everything was ok from the last ultrasound, regarding the baby's measurements. The doctor said I'm doing great :) and our little girl measured perfectly! Now we're pretty much just riding it out and making sure I'm ok, the doctor said we're pretty much done with blood test for the baby and everything we just need to make sure I'm ok.

I'm about 2 weeks away from entering into the 3rd trimester and I'm ridiculously excited. My belly has gotten bigger, it seems to be growing everyday. Our little girl is the size of a papaya right now and apparently she's taking up a lot of room in my belly. I've been feeling her hiccup a lot and kick every once in a while, it's a crazy feeling but I love it, when she's not moving around I find myself giving my stomach a little shake and asking her to wake up :)

I'm excited in the next few weeks to do some real baby shopping. I really need to go maternity clothes shopping, which I'm excited to do. I'm also really looking forward to buying my diaper bag! It is a Timi & Leslie Baby Jane in black.
I love this diaper bag because it's stylish I can use it as a purse and a diaper bag, instead of having to haul around a purse and a diaper bag, plus I think it's really cute.

I've also been going back and forth about what stroller I want. At first even before we got pregnant I had been looking at the Maclaren strollers and had my heart set on one of these.
However, I have been going back and forth for a while and the other day I was at the mall with my best friend and we were looking at baby clothes and I saw this women with the Quinny Buzz 3 and I all of a sudden really wanted that stroller, I had seen it before online and really liked it but seeing it in person was even better. I know it's different from the traditional stroller and I think that's what I really like about it, it's trendy but still comfortable, it's not bulky which is a big deal for me and it's stylish. It's kind of expensive so It would take a lot of convincing of the husband on my part to be able to get it. For now though I'm really in love with it.

The thing I'm looking forward to the most though is going baby girl clothes shopping!!! I haven't bought any baby clothes yet, we've been trying to hold off but I can't wait much longer so in the following weeks once we make our big move, I'm going to scour the Bay Area for the perfect baby clothes :)

Since I'm no longer in school and I'm also not working at the moment I've been spending a lot of time watching tv and reading pregnancy books, magazines, and spend a substantial amount of time on thebump. One of the things I watch a lot of is Baby Story, it's a show on TLC that documents the last weeks of a woman's pregnancy. I love watching the show but I can't help but get really emotional, I mean I'm already an emotional person (it's my cancer side) but this is out of control, when they show the baby being born, I without fail break down and cry. I know I'm probably just crying out of excitement for wanting to be in that position myself but It makes me feel like a big baby. I don't mind crying though it just sucks because it gives Derek something to make fun of me for. No worries though I know Derek will turn into a big fat baby when he gets to meet our little girl ;)

Well for now that is all I have to report. Hopefully I'll have some more fun news to share soon.

It's Been A While, So It's Time For An Update

So it's been a while since I posted anything so I thought I should do a little updating. The past couple of weeks have been pretty hectic. I have a couple of changes going on right now so I thought I would update on that.

In terms of school I won't be going to Law School this semester. Due to some personal issues I feel like right now is not the best time for me to be going to Law School and I'm going to take some time off to work and be with my family. Hopefully I can go back in the near future because Law is definitely still what I want to do and where I want to be.

Along with my decision to leave school for the time being, Derek and I will be moving up to Northern California. I will be taking time off to relax before the baby comes, after the baby is born I will be working and Derek will be finishing school. I miss San Francisco and it will be nice to be back in the Bay Area for a little bit before Derek and I move back down here for good.

Now for some baby news! So the last post I wrote I talked about how we would be finding out if we were having a boy or a girl. We'll turns out we're having a girl :)))) We are sooooo excited! We had two sets of names picked out for a boy or a girl so we already know what we're naming her. After we found out we're having a girl we registered for gifts and it was so fun. We also scheduled a 4D ultrasound for the 19th and we're going to have my parents and Derek parents come so they can see the baby. I'm really excited to start buying more baby stuff, so far we've only purchased the bath tub and some pacifiers. I just recently felt the baby kick for the first time and over the past 2 days she's been going crazy in my belly and kicking and hiccuping like crazy, it's such a weird feeling but it's amazing.

I'm 22 weeks pregnant and it feels surreal that I'm past the halfway point. I finally need to start buying some real maternity clothes, so I'm excited to go shopping. I'm also looking forward to waddling. Even before Derek and I decided to get pregnant waddling has always been my favorite thing, when I would see other pregnant women, I just want to waddle like a penguin :) I know it's probably weird but I'm excited.

Here's a picture of our last ultrasound :)

Not So Much.

I've been on winter break from school for almost 3 weeks, and classes start again in 2. I have mixed feelings about starting classes again.

On one hand I'm looking forward to starting school because I know that being busy with school all the time will make the next couple of months fly, which in turn means baby will be here soon. I'm also looking forward to starting classes because I'm pretty bored being at home (never thought I would say that), I'm even thinking of starting some work before classes start. Aside from the holidays I haven't spent much time hanging out with anyone. With Derek working all the time and being broke I haven't been able to enjoy my vacation to the full extent, except for the whole not-doing-anything-watching-TV-all-day part.

On the other hand I am not looking forward to the stress from school, waking up early (well compared to the time I wake up now), having to commute, and even though I want these months to go by fast I'm also not looking forward to missing out on being able to just concentrate on being pregnant and instead having to have the pregnancy take a backseat to school.

To top it all off, I was not happy with my grades at all. I passed all my classes but was not happy with the grades that I received, which means I have to kick it up this coming semester.

Now for some belly ranting...
Tomorrow I will be 18 weeks! It feels really surreal that I'm this far along, I'm sure I will be saying that once I get in the twenties but right now this is pretty crazy to me. Some changes from the last couple of weeks is that I really feel now that I have a real bump, I think I look pregnant now. I've also been feeling flutters from the baby moving I'm hoping that in the next couple of weeks I will be able to actually feel the baby move. One downfall is I'm still throwing up every once in a while, which drives me crazy! I had no morning sickness or anything the first trimester and then the throwing up bile happened and even though my doctor prescribed me Zantac I'm still having a hard time, I think the baby is high in my belly and is causing me to feel sick and not allowing the food to pass. Hopefully my doctor has something helpful to say at my appointment this week.

We will hopefully be finding out the gender of the baby in 10 days!!! I hope the baby will let us see enough so that we can find out. Also once we find out the gender we will be registering for the baby shower. I had fun registering for our wedding; I'm even more excited to register for the baby.

Upcoming...
Sometime at the end of January or beginning of February we're going to plan a 3D Ultrasound so that my parents and the in laws can see the baby and find out the gender :) I'm excited to be able to see the baby in detail. I'm also thinking about taking a prenatal yoga class along with a breastfeeding and lamaze class.

I'm also exciting to put together our birth plan and do a maternity ward tour.

There is so much to do and so much coming up the next couple of months and I'm ridiculously excited :) I'm looking forward to 2011 especially for June, we'll have our baby and my 24th birthday all in one month!

I so badly want this!

Ok so aside from all of the normal baby furniture and stuff I want, this is something that I'm absolutely in love with. The Go Crib.

During one of my first doctors visits they gave me a pregnancy magazine, which I have now subscribed to, and as I was flipping through it I came across an ad for the Go Crib, I went on their site and I've been obsessed with it since. At first Derek thought it was just a waste of money, it's pretty expensive, pretty much the cost of a regular crib. However, after I've reminded him of how many great uses it has I think he's warmed up to the idea. It's amazing for trips to the beach, picnics in the park, and for visiting grandma and grandpa since they won't have a crib for the baby at either of our parents homes, the Go Crib is perfect for that.

I was just on their website, I haven't been on it for a while and their price went down, it was at $300 and now it's at $250 and it's free shipping. How I wish so badly I had the money for it now.

I know I haven't bought this yet but I'm just gushing over it imagining how great it will be when I finally have it; 'cause I'm pretty sure I can convince Derek that it is a necessary purchase ;)

Salivating...

It has so much space.

It comes in a cute little backpack :)

Nursery Ideas

My first semester of Law School is finally over! My last final was on Thursday and I've been pretty much doing nothing for the past day and a half, it's felt pretty wonderful. Aside from not doing much of anything, I have been on The Bump a lot, during school I hardly ever had time to go on and do my thing but now I have all the time in the world.

I've been trying to get inspiration for the nursery and I'm loving everything I see. I wish we had our own home so that I could do so much more. I really want a tree mural in the nursery, our apartments let us paint as long as we paint it back to the original color, but painting a mural and putting that much time and detail into something that we'll just have to paint back when we move just doesn't seem worth it. Since we are thinking of moving out at the end of August I'm thinking we can put up one of the sticker art murals instead, they actually look pretty good for being stickers.

I thought I would share some of my inspirations. Since we don't know if we're having a girl or a boy I found girl and boy inspired nurseries, here are some pictures:

I really really want a zoo themed room If we have a boy :)

This room has so much going on it's so cute and I love the cute glider they have.

This is such a classic look and I love how elegant everything looks. I love the neutral colors.

The only thing I really liked about this room was the pretty purple color and the pink on the mural.

This is my ultimate favorite, this is the nursery for Tiffany Thiessen's baby. I love love love the lavender color and the tree wall art is exactly what I want. I also really want that Glider. I don't like rockers so Instead I'm going to get a cute little upholstered glider like the one in this picture. Love!

I'm so in love with the thought of decorating and putting my nursery together :)

Just Some Thoughts

I've been meaning to write a post and just got a chance. I had my last day of classes on Wednesday and now it's all studying and reviewing for the finals coming up the next 2 weeks. My last final is on the 16th and after that I get a whole month off; I'm so looking forward to just sleeping. There are a couple of things that have been on my mind lately so I'm just going to rant.

Baby:
Our baby is now at 13 weeks which means I'm officially into the 2nd Trimester. The 2nd trimester is supposed to be the best part of the pregnancy, when the fatigue, morning sickness, and all of the hormones calm down, so I'm hoping it'll kick in asap. We got the chance to do an ultrasound last week and we got to see the baby again, this time it looked like a baby and "little noodle" was moving around like crazy, moving its arms around like crazy and bouncing up and down on its back, I had to keep myself from crying, I was just so happy to finally see the baby looking like a baby.

Well technically I got to see the baby 2 weeks before at my last appointment and it already pretty much looked like a baby and I got to see the baby kick, but this time it was even better especially since Derek was at this one.

Cravings:
So, one of the things that I was looking forward to ridiculously was having some crazy cravings during my pregnancy. I know it's only been 13 weeks but I don't really feel like I've had any legit cravings; and it's kind of bummed me out. I do seem to have one very strong craving for Gatorade Fierce Grape, it's my drink of choice aside from water. When it comes to food though I haven't gotten any out of the ordinary cravings. I hope they start kicking in.

I do however seem to have "cravings" for other things that aren't food. I am really wanting to go out dancing, I love dancing and I haven't danced since my wedding, so over a year ago. I find myself having mini-dance parties in my room or in the shower lol, yes my shower is big enough for a single person dance party. So I'm trying to get all my girls together to go out dancing in the next couple of weeks so I can get that out of my system before I get too big to even think about going out to a dance club.

Some Pregnancy Complaints:
I love being pregnant, don't get me wrong, however there are a few things that are pretty annoying. I've never had heartburn before and having it all the time now is so annoying and weird, it makes my chest hurt :(

Also TMI, but having lots of gas sucks. I'm not use to having hardly any gas but now it's like times a million. Gross and uncomfortable.

In terms of weight gain, I didn't gain any weight for the first 12 weeks and over the last 4 days I gained 4 pounds and then lost 2 so I've gained 2 pounds so far. I'm a little bummed out because I was trying to not gain any weight till the third trimester, but the fact that during the 2nd trimester the digestive system slows down, I'm going to have to really watch what I'm eating even more. Aside from all that my weight has all shifted to my stomach and it's really uncomfortable and I feel so fat, I just want to look obviously pregnant already.

Miscellaneous
I've been feeling really restless lately. All I ever do is go to class and come home and do homework/study. Derek and I sometimes go out, definitely not as much as we use to but It feels like we never have anything going on.

I haven't taken a vacation in forever it feels like. I love airports. I love flying. I haven't been on a plane in just over a year, since our honeymoon and I miss it very much.

I really want to take a babymoon in March during Spring Break but with everything going on I don't know if we'll be able to. Either way I really want to take a vacation after the baby is born, in June for my birthday or sometime during the summer. I've been wanting to go back to Hawaii, but this time Maui or to New York, I haven't been back there since my 20th birthday. I would also love to go back to Europe or Puerto Rico, but what I really want is to go on a cruise, i haven't done that yet and it would be fun to go on a caribbean cruise or maybe one down to Mexico. I just want to take a much needed vacation.

That's all I have to rant about for now :)
